What are your pieces made from?

My pieces are made from brass or Corten steel. Each design is created by me, laser-cut for precision, and then hand-finished in my Gloucestershire studio. Every piece celebrates British folklore and the magic hiding in our hedgerows.

What's the difference between the finish of brass and Corten steel?

Corten steel is designed specifically for outdoors. It's the "rusty" metal you might have seen in contemporary gardens - it develops a protective orange-brown rust layer that actually protects the metal underneath. It's meant to rust, and it looks beautiful doing it!

Yes, brass naturally develops a darker patina over time - it's part of its charm and character. If you prefer it bright and shiny, you can clean it with brass cleaner or a bit of lemon juice and a soft cloth. Some people love the aged look, others keep it polished - completely up to you!

Absolutely! That's exactly what it's designed to do. Corten steel develops a protective rust layer when exposed to the elements. This rust acts as a barrier and actually protects the metal underneath. The rusty orange-brown colour looks stunning in gardens and gets richer over time. It won't rust through or deteriorate - it's made for outdoor use.

Each design is inspired by traditional British plant lore and protective symbolism. Hawthorn, oak, holly, and rowan have been used for protection for centuries. The animals - foxes, wrens, moths, hedgehogs - all carry their own folklore meanings. I love researching these old stories and bringing them to life in metal!
