exhibitions

I love showing work in the wild - galleries, village halls, community spaces, anywhere people might pause and really look.

Exhibitions let me create something immersive: playing with scale and story, but most importantly celebrating nature. Brass hedgerows casting shadows on walls, steel creatures emerging from corners, exploring where tiny details become monumental and the familiar becomes fantastical.

In From Hedge & Hollow at Prema Arts Centre in Uley, Gloucestershire I was given free reign to inhabit the beautiful showcase space with my creatures. I wanted to make something inviting that was a bit magical. I used warm brass as an ode to my memories of cosy traditions: the spinning brass angels with dangling bells, the tree decorated with the same cherished ornaments each year. Those rituals created what I think of as "predictable magic" - safety and wonder woven together.

In this cabinet individual steel creatures and plants grouped together creating new stories, the crow gazing at the hawthorn berrys, giant moths hidden in the shadows of the hedgerow. Little pockets of detail and wonder sparking curiosity, memory and hopefully a conversation about nature.

That's the noticing spell in action - helping people fall back in love with the robin, the blackberry, the wild world that's been there all along.

Keep an eye here for upcoming exhibitions, or get in touch if you'd like to collaborate on a show.
